Does any of the following sound familiar?
-
You’ve tried to discontinue antidepressants (or another psychotropic medication) in the past and you experienced intolerable withdrawal effects as you lower the dose
-
Maybe you’ve been told these are signs that you “need the medication for life”
-
Perhaps you have been able to taper off the medication, and have since restarted the same drug or a new drug and want to come off in a safer and more supported way
If so, I might be able to help!
Meet Monica
My name is Monica Mina and I am a Nurse Practitioner registered in both British Columbia and Ontario. I work with adults who are at various stages of the journey to discontinue or reduce the dose of an antidepressant medication. Having the lived experience of how challenging it can be to find support and education on how to safely taper these medications myself, I hope to be able to help others through what can be a long, bumpy and unpredictable road. I consider my approach when working with individuals to be collaborative, holistic, and supportive.
Whether you are looking for a second opinion, education, or someone to walk alongside you throughout any phase of the tapering journey - my goal is to be able to meet you where you are at, and work together to get you where you want to be.
